Our mission is to lead people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Our Pastor Randall C. Nichols and his wife Denise have grown up among the Friends of Iowa Yearly Meeting, recently relocating to Carlisle from Eldora. They have three grown children and two grandchildren..

When Randall first graduated from William Penn College (now University) in 1976, he served for a brief time as pastor of Center Friends Church near Newton. Then he entered the education field where he served for 35 years, then 22 years as a public school administrator. In the mid-1980’s, he worked at William Penn College for five years. From August 1988 to November 1990, he taught English, speech, and drama at Carlisle High School. For six years prior to receiving the call to become our Pastor, he was superintendent of schools for the Eldora-New Providence Community School District. Randall is nearing the completion of his Doctoral Degree.

Denise spent eleven years working with special education students as a para-educator, the last six years of which were at Grundy Center Elementary School. Previously, she worked as a dental assistant and as a daycare provider. She has left her employment at the Carlisle Public Library and is now attending college full time.

Randall and Denise are very excited about being a part of the Middle River Friends Church family and the Carlisle community. They look forward to getting to know each of you better in the days, weeks, and years ahead.
