What to expect here at Friends

When you walk in the door of our church, you will be greeted and welcomed by our faithful volunteers.  We have a bulletin that lists our service elements and helps to keep us on track!  Our worship celebration starts at 10:00 am on Sundays and lasts for about an hour.  We have an open worship element to our service that encourages you to share what the Lord has done in your life or share prayer requests.

We are currently doing a Facebook Live broadcast during this hour for those who need to be a part of us at home.

Sunday School starts at 9:00 am and lasts until 9:55.   We have classes for every age group.

Casual dress is how we roll.  We want everyone to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

There is a cry room down the hall from the sanctuary where parents can still monitor the service with a live feed tv while watching their little one.

Bathrooms are located by the Fellowship Hall.

Get To Know Friends Church

We are a Missional Community

Our Mission: Middle River Friends Exists to exalt Jesus Christ by being fruitful disciple-makers and expressing God's Love by serving all people.

MRFC's Vision

Our Vision in Exalting Jesus is that all people would see Christ Jesus in and through everything we do and be drawn to recognize and worship Him as Lord and Savior.

MRFC's Core Principles

Our Principles as fruitful disciple makers are to be intentional in developing, training, teaching, and aligning all ministries and the church by inviting all people to:

  • Come and See what God is doing even as we are being transformed and renewed as Christ followers.

  • Come and Follow Jesus where He leads and directs through the Holy Spirit.

  • Come and Know God, The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by learning what it means to be a Disciple making Disciples.

  • Go and Love others by serving all people as we encourage, edify and build Christ’s Church.

All members are encouraged to join in this effort as we support the life and health of the church in prayer and participation while exalting the name of Jesus.

We Acknowledge in Faith

The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are one Triune God

Jesus died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is the only way to heaven

JESUS IS OUR SALVATION

To those who believe: John 15:15, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”

Friends have no creeds-no official words can substitute for a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.  These unofficial statements give a general sense of the Friends’ faith.

  • God is love and wants to communicate inwardly with everyone who is willing.

  • Worship is spiritual and must be Spirit-led.

  • All people are equal before God and may minister as they are led by God.

  • Jesus Christ is our ever-present Teacher and Lord, and we seek to conduct church affairs in unity under his guidance.

  • The Spirit of God gives guidance that is consistent with the Bible.

  • As people respond to the Light of Christ within, their lives begin to reflect Jesus’ peace, integrity, simplicity and moral purity.
