  • October 13th 2017 05:31 AM - We had a wonderful potato bar luncheon at Sojourners today. John brought angel food cake for dessert. Bette gave an inspirational devotion. Then we had our own private "concert" by our good friends and neighbors, Ed and Jeannie Keeney. A great time was had by all.

  • September 14th 2017 01:50 PM - The Iowa Yearly Meeting Christian Social Concerns committee desires to help connect the local churches of the yearly meeting to better minister to the needs of their communities. To assist in that effort, they have an official blog to help keep us current on social justice issues. The website is The theme for this year is "Loving our Captive Neighbor." The theme verses for the year are Isaiah 58:6-9.

  • August 23rd 2017 03:22 PM - You all are invited to an ice cream fundraiser for Grace Crowell's Family on Saturday, August 26th from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm at Motor Friends Church. The Ice Cream is free! Grace has Leukemia and is taking Chemotherapy about every ten days. There will be a free will offering for Grace. She is the 10 year old granddaughter of Jay & Charlotte Mosher. (Motor Friends is located at 14350 240th Avenue, which is 5 miles east and 1 3/4 miles north of Milo.)

  • August 13th 2017 04:06 PM - Dear Friends, We are sad to let you know that Nadine Goodhue passed away peacefully this afternoon at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was surrounded by family and passed into God’s grace with them present. Please pray for Jim and the family. We will let you know when arrangements are finalized that you may be able to join in a celebration of Nadine’s life.

  • August 2nd 2017 11:23 AM - Our planned Drive-In Movie Night is cancelled for Friday, August 4. Valle Theater has changed the movie line up for this weekend, and unfortunately, this is not the family fare we had hoped for. We will keep you posted when we can find another time and movie selection to have our "movie night."
